Monday Minute 7/27/20

A weekly recap of what’s going on here at Run 4 the Hills.

The first big thing that happened last week was we finally got alllll the landscaping around the house removed and replaced with river rock. This has been a long time coming (like, since we moved in 2 years ago…). The landscaping was decent when we moved in - a few shrubs here and there. But then I planted some mint. And then weeds started growing faster than we could pull them out. And then we gave up. And then there was a jungle. A mint forest, and a weed jungle. The mint was nice, the weeds, not so much. We spent over a year talking about getting it ripped up, and last week, we finally got it done! It took the landscapers all day to rip up that jungle, put down fabric, and cover it with river rock, but now our house is surrounded by nice, maintenance-free rock instead of wild greenery.

The next big thing that happened over the past week? My website went live! I’ve been working hard over the past week and am so happy to finally have it up and running! I’m still learning how to use SquareSpace, and its new version makes me really frustrated, but I’ve managed to put something together thanks to help from my friend Katy and my hubs! (Also thanks to my hubs for talking me off the ledge every time I got super frustrated and wanted to throw my computer across the room…I’m glad I have a tech-savvy husband!)

In addition to finally getting my website live, I’ve added a new GrETchenFIT group that will have their first class tonight`! I’m super excited to reconnect with my college friend Katie, and to meet her sister and friend who will be joining her in the class. Haven’t heard of GrETchenFIT yet? That’s the clever name hubs came up with for my strength training program! Learn more here.

That’s about it for this week’s Monday Minute!
