Monday Minute 8/31/20

It was a busy week of physical therapy, trying to keep the kids on top of their virtual learning, and getting the kids off their ipads and outside. In a perfect world, all the time we spent outside running around would have made the kids tired enough to fall asleep early. But we do not live in a perfect world. The kids were still wide awake til 11 or 12 every night along with their dad and I…I was exhausted and falling asleep on the couch by 9 every night. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I had a lot of things on my personal/business to-do list that did not happen this past week because of physical therapy, spending time outside with the kids, doing laundry, and cooking. But that’s ok, because I have all this next week to work on those things. The time with the kids flies by and making the most of it is much more important than checking off everything on my to-do list for sure!

We played in the creek on Monday and Thursday, and both days they had so much fun they didn’t want to leave. We even had some friends join us on Thursday which was a blast - kids for them to play with and an adult for me to talk to!

This was Monday, when I thought it would be ok to let them play in their clothes. I realized my mistake when they had to get back in the car muddy and dripping 🤦🏻‍♀️. I made sure they had bathing suits on when we returned on Thursday!

In physical therapy news… it has been going well! I got to run every day this week either on the dreadmill at PT or outside on my own, and it’s been feeling good. I haven’t gotten permission to run hills yet, but I am expecting to get that permission soon! It sounds like I will only be in PT for another week or two. I can’t wait for that permission to go back to running as usual…there aren’t a lot of places to go around here if you are avoiding hills and it’s getting super boring running the same loops all the time!

In business news…things are still off to a slow start, but I just added another athlete to my roster, and I’m kicking off a Running 101 : 0-5k program on Sept. 1! I only have one person signed up so far, but I’m excited to launch the program whether it’s for 1 person or 20!
