Monday Minute 1/25/21

It’s been a “minute” since I’ve done a Monday Minute post! I figured it was time to update you on what’s been happening here at Run 4 the Hills Coaching now that we’re a few weeks into 2021.

Ok, not really. I don’t drink coffee before running, that would NOT go well. Some days I drink the coffee, some days I run the miles.😂

PERSONAL UPDATE

Running has been going well for me, I’ve been keeping my mileage fairly low (20-25 miles per week, and I typically run 3-4 days. I’m super excited to run an actual, in-person, half marathon next weekend! I’m not expecting any kind of record finish time, but I am hoping to run strong and have a finish time at least comparable to the ones I had last year (and hopefully a bit faster). But mainly I am just really happy to run an in-person race, and my finish time will give me an idea of how well my training has been going, and what I need to work on to get faster for the next race.

COACHING UPDATE

My exciting news for the month is that I had the first graduate of my Running 101 program, and she is doing great! She had tried to start running on her own before, but always ended up injured and giving up. I helped her build her mileage up slowly, starting with 0:30 at a time of running, and at the completion of the 3 month program she was injury-free and running over 3 miles without stopping!
